Jointly held by the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the HKSAR government, and the Guangdong provincial government, the event was themed "A New Journey with Greater Opportunities."

Liu Guangyuan, commissioner of the Chinese foreign ministry in the HKSAR, said the event could let foreign business communities in Hong Kong see China's firm determination in expanding opening up, the opportunities in China's building of a new development pattern, and Hong Kong's advantages in seizing opportunities in China's rapid development.
