SAN FRANCISCO, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The numbers of COVID-19 cases in Northern California's San Francisco Bay Area are climbing, according to official statistics released on Tuesday.
San Francisco saw 50 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the city's total number to 4,640, the statistics showed.
The Bay Area's San Mateo County added 123 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number to 4,168.
Contra Costa County reported 171 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing its total since the start of the pandemic to 5,023.
There were 36,811 cases in the Bay Area, including 660 deaths as of Tuesday noon.
Due to the surging cases, San Jose's Winchester Mystery House closed to the public again on Tuesday.
It just reopened on Monday, the same day that California Governor Gavin Newsom announced new state guidelines closing several categories of indoor businesses.
Tours of the famed mansion were canceled, according to the report of the San Francisco Chronicle.
